Volleyball roundup: Arundel, Severna Park to meet in Section 1 final

Brooke Watts had 12 kills and four aces and Mackenzie Meehan added six aces and five kills to lead Arundel to a sweep of North County, 25-4, 25-12, 25-21 in a Class 4A East Region Section I semifinal match on Monday.

Arundel will host Severna Park at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in the Section I final.

Abrielle Scrivner finished with three blocks and two kills and Aaliyah Griffin contributed three kills and two aces for Arundel.

SEVERNA PARK 3, MEADE 0: Siena DeCicco handed out 25 assists and Maggie Sale added seven kills as the Falcons swept the Mustangs, 25-9, 25-20, 25-16, in a Class 4A east Region Section I semifinal.

Severna Park will travel to Arundel on Wednesday at 6 p.m. for the Section I final.

Madi Mason registered five aces and three kills and Georgia Marriner chipped in with three kills and three blocks for Severna Park.

SOUTH RIVER 3, ANNAPOLIS 0: Emily Speciale went 15 for 16 serving with two aces and 31 assists and Samanta Tarabella provided 18 kills as the Seahawks rebounded from a County Championship loss to sweep the Panthers, 25-11, 25-14, 25-15, in a Class 4A east Region Section II semifinal.

South River will host Broadneck at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in the Section II final.

Erin Canter finished 12 for 13 with four kills and Sam Doudna ended the match 8 for 9 with four kills for South River.

Karen Bautista had 10 kills, four digs and three blocks, E.J. Mejia Barringer registered 14 assists and Sabrina Gleitz went 8 for 8 with seven kills and six digs for Annapolis (9-8).

BROADNECK 3, LEONARDTOWN 0: Madison Chadwick had 19 service points, 10 digs and three kills and Emma Quandt added 13 service points and nine kills as the Bruins swept the Raiders, 25-19, 25-12, 25-13, in a Class 4A East Region Section II semifinal.

Broadneck will travel to face South River in the Section II final at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Makena Smith contributed 27 assists, eight service points, seven digs and five kills, Gabi Ludlum chipped in with 10 digs and two kills, Grace Phelan pitched in five kills and three blocks and Natalie Luscomb recorded five kills and two blocks for Broadneck.

NORTHEAST 3, STEPHEN DECATUR 1: Sabrina Sheppard went 19 for 24 serving with nine aces and three kills and Mallorie Hetzel finished 15 for 19 with four aces and five digs as the Eagles knocked off the Seahawks, 25-16, 19-25, 25-20, 25-19, in a Class 3A East Region Section II semifinal.

Northeast will travel to James M. Bennett on Wednesday for the Section II final.

Camille Coryatt was credited with nine kills, Alia Esposito had four blocks and Caroline Makarovich recorded three blocks for Northeast.

JAMES M. BENNETT 3, CHESAPEAKE 0: Ally Fisher had two aces and two kills, but the Clippers swept the Cougars, 25-4, 25-8, 25-6, in a Class 3A East Region Section II semifinal.

Chesapeake finishes the season at 8-7.
