Boys basketball roundup: Southern's Holland scores 20, reaches milestone in win

Curtis Holland III tallied 20 points to eclipse the 1,000-point plateau and Jake Koverman added 11 points as Southern defeated Chesapeake Science Point, 66-22, in boys basketball play on Monday night.

Holland needed 16 points to reach 1,000 and now stands at 1,004 points for his career with four regular-season games to play plus the postseason.

Al Horvath and Justin Salisbury each contributed nine points for the Bulldogs (14-4).

Peyton Clark and Seeni Akinrodemi scored six points apiece for the Tigers (0-8).

OLD MILL 77, NORTHEAST 45: HolliqueJohnson tallied a game-high 16 points and Ryan Savage was close behind with 15 points as the Patriots beat the Eagles. Daevone Johnson added 12 points for Old Mill (14-4).

Brennen Volkman had 11 points and Jaylin Albury pitched in with seven points for Northeast (4-15).

CALVERT 67, SOUTH RIVER 55: Kobe Denton scored 14 points for the Seahawks (6-13).
