An Anne Arundel County police officer and another driver suffered minor injuries Tuesday night after his vehicle struck her SUV on the way to a reported burglary in Pasadena.

Police said the unidentified officer was driving a 2017 Ford Explorer with lights and sirens activated about 9 p.m. on Edwin Raynor Boulevard when a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox cut across lanes of the road to make a left onto Route 100.

The police vehicle struck the SUV on the front of the driver’s side as the officer tried to drive around it, a police spokesman said.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 36-year-old woman from Glen Burnie, suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene, but children in her car were not hurt. The officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a minor injury.

Both vehicles were disabled.

Police did not release the name of either the officer or the other driver. It was not immediately clear if any citations were issued.
