One person dead after shooting in Glen Burnie

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating a shooting in a Glen Burnie neighborhood that left one person dead Monday afternoon.

The Anne Arundel Fire Department initially responded at about 4 p.m. to the 300 block of Highland Drive, an apartment complex behind the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center. The fire department found a person dead from their injuries, said spokesman Lt. Erik Kornmeyer.

Kornmeyer could not identify the person. Police said the person had been shot and that detectives were beginning an investigation.
