Three in critical condition after accident in Gambrills

Three people are in critical condition after a driver lost control of a vehicle in Gambrills and crashed into a Baltimore Gas and Electric pole, police said.

At about 12:36 p.m. Wednesday officers responded to a single-vehicle accident involving a four-door 2008 Chrysler Sebring on Crain Highway near Church View Road in Gambrills, police said.

Two men and a woman were transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore with critical injuries. Two of the injured are Maryland residents while the third is unknown, though police believe he is from Hagerstown.

Investigators said they believe the driver of the vehicle lost control and struck the pole. The investigation is ongoing and police have listed the primary cause of the crash as failing to remain in a single lane. Speed is not suspected as the cause of the crash, police said.
