The westbound span of the Bay Bridge was closed after a tractor-trailer tipped on its side on the bridge approach on Kent Island.
Kent Island firefighters and the Maryland Department of Transportation Police responded around 1:30 p.m. for a single vehicle accident.
The driver of the tractor-trailer refused medical treatment, Kent Island fire and MDTA police said.
“There are several tow trucks out there trying to right the truck now,” MDTA police spokesman Cpl. Edward Bartlinsiki said.
He indicated there was some trouble performing that task and had no estimate when traffic patterns would return to normal.
“We have one lane operating in each direction,” Bartlinski said.
