Man fatally stabbed girlfriend, police say

A woman was fatally stabbed by her boyfriend early Saturday morning, Baltimore police said.

Police said that just before 1:00 a.m., paramedics found Andrea Williams, 45, inside her home in the 2800 block of W. Lanvale Street in the Mosher neighborhood and that she was suffering from a stab wound to her torso. Williams was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police said, where she died from her injuries.

Police charged her boyfriend, 43-year-old Robert Wimbley, with first-degree murder, assault and other charges. Wimbley was being held Saturday night at the Baltimore City Central Booking and Intake Facility.
