Baltimore police investigate killing of 5-month-old girl

Baltimore homicide detectives are investigating the killing of a 5-month-old girl, whose death was ruled a homicide late last week.

Baltimore detectives are investigating the killing earlier this month of a 5-month-old girl whose death was ruled a homicide late last week.

Police said Ilzaryah Morrison was found unresponsive when officers responded to the 1600 block of N. Broadway on Sept. 2 at about 8:30 a.m. She was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

An autopsy determined Morrison had been asphyxiated, and the case was ruled a homicide on Sept. 20. Police said the investigation is continuing, and did not identify a suspect.

Five children under the age of two have been killed this year in Baltimore. Anyone with information was asked to call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.
