A 22-year-old man was shot overnight in Bolton Hill, police said, and he remained in critical condition after surgery.

The shooting took place shortly after midnight on the 1700 block of Park Avenue, a police spokeswoman said. An officer who went to the scene found the man outside a building with a gunshot wound to the body.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and stabilized the victim before taking him to a hospital, the spokeswoman said.
