Three shot overnight in Baltimore

Three men were shot in Baltimore during a three-hour span beginning late Wednesday night, according to city police.

Police were called at about 11:45 p.m. to the 600 block of E. 41st St. in Northeast Baltimore and found a 26-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to the back and torso. The man had been riding a dirt bike when the suspect approached him in a car and shot him three times, police said. The victim was knocked from the dirt bike and fell into a yard, where owners of the home called police. He was taken to an area hospital and is in serious condition, according to police.

About 45 minutes later, a 47-year-old man was wounded during an attempted robbery in the 4900 block of Lanier Ave. in Northwest Baltimore, police said. The victim was shot in the back and thigh and taken to an area hospital. His condition is unknown, according to police.

A little more than two hours later, a man in his 20s was shot in the leg in the 100 block of S. Schroeder St. in West Baltimore, police said. His condition is unknown.

Police have made no arrests in the incidents.

Detectives have also ruled an assault from earlier this year as a homicide after the victim died Tuesday at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. John Sandy, 73, had been in the hospital since he was struck several times in the head in the 3500 block of Elm Avenue during an attack on April 18. An autopsy Wednesday showed he died of blunt force trauma.

Police have released no further details about the incident.
