Baltimore police, using DNA evidence, have charged a 20-year-old man with raping a woman this year and with raping a 13-year-old girl in 2007, according to a city police spokesman. Darnell "Ronnell" Williams, who police said is a member of the Purple City Dip Set gang, is being held at Central Booking and Intake Center in a drug case. Authorities now routinely take DNA samples from suspects, and police said his matched samples taken from the rape victims. Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said warrants have been issued charging Williams with raping a woman in February in the 1600 block of N. Pulaski St. in West Baltimore and with raping the girl in the 2000 block of Presbury St. in June 2007.
