Woman sentenced to 20 years for attempted murder

Baltimore Sun

A 22-year-old Baltimore woman with no adult criminal history was sentenced to seven 20-year prison terms Friday, to run concurrently, for the attempted murder of seven people - including three children. According to the facts of the case, Christina Rather, who was in the Air Force Reserves, forced her way into a home where her ex-lover was staying in November 2008 and tried to shoot the woman and the dwelling's other occupants, but her gun jammed. "Someone is going to die tonight in this house," she is alleged to have said. Police arrived as Rather was fighting with another woman and used a stun gun on the defendant. She pleaded guilty in August.
