The post-conviction hearing of Adnan Syed, the subject of the "Serial" podcast, has been moved up a day to Feb. 4 and 5, according to his attorney, C. Justin Brown.
Syed, who is serving a life sentence in prison, is appealing his 2000 murder conviction in the death of his ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee.
The case was featured on the "This American Life" spinoff, which raised questions about the evidence against Syed and became the most popular podcast in the world, bringing international attention to the case.
The hearing had originally been scheduled to begin Feb. 5.
An earlier version misidentified where the podcast "Serial" was featured. It is a offshoot of the public radio program "This American Life." The Sun regrets the error.
