Baltimore police said Monday they have found the vehicle that was used last week in a drive-by shooting that wounded five people.
Police believe an unknown number of suspects were riding in a stolen blue Honda Pilot when they shot three women, a man and a teenage girl on Thursday in the 1900 block of W. Lanvale St. in Midtown-Edmondson.
Police did not provide any details on where or when they found the vehicle or if they have identified any suspects or persons of interests in the shooting, but said Monday that their investigation was progressing.
On Thursday, the Pilot set off a tag reader used by the Regional Auto Theft Task force that signaled that the vehicle was stolen. Officers tried to pull the Pilot over twice but the vehicle fled. It ended up in West Baltimore, where police said it pulled up to the intersection of Appleton and Lanvale streets and an unknown number of suspects opened fire.
A 37-year-old woman was shot in the torso; a 39-year-old woman was shot in the leg; a 39-year-old woman was shot in the lower back; a 22-year-old man was shot in the leg; and a 15-year-old girl was shot in the arm, police said. All were treated at area hospitals and expected to survive, police said.
Police released the vehicle's tag number to the public, and police did not say how they found the vehicle. They also released surveillance images that showed blurry images of four persons of interest connected to the shooting.
