BALTIMORE (AP) — Prosecutors say a Maryland woman who was not a licensed medical practitioner has been charged with improperly injecting silicone into customers who paid her for the injections in order to shape various areas of their bodies.
Prosecutors say 54-year-old Kendra Westmoreland of Windsor Mill, was indicted by a grand jury Wednesday. Prosecutors say that from 2000 to 2015, Westmoreland, who was not a licensed medical practitioner or working under someone who was licensed, misled customers by saying she was injecting "medical grade" silicone that was approved for injecting directly into the body. Prosecutors say the silicone product she used is not approved for "body-contouring."
If convicted, she faces a maximum of three years in prison. An online court record system did not list an attorney for her.
