Police investigate nonfatal shooting in East Baltimore

Baltimore police are investigating a nonfatal shooting that occurred at about 9:25 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Abbott Court in East Baltimore, a police spokesman said.

Detective Jeremy Silbert said officers were initially unable to locate a victim. But a short time later, a 19-year-old man arrived at an East Baltimore hospital suffering from gunshot wounds to the leg and arm, Silbert said.

The victim told detectives that he had been walking in the street when he was shot from behind, Silbert said. The detective said the victim then flagged down a car, which took him to the hospital. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
