The FBI said Friday it is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a serial bank robber dubbed the "Lion Man."
The man, who witnesses reported wore a Detroit Lions cap in at least a couple heists, is believed to be responsible for 11 robberies and attempted robberies since February at banks near Washington D.C., and in the Baltimore area.
Witnesses said the man threatened a teller with a gun during the most recent robbery Thursday of a SunTrust bank branch in Columbia. Authorities say they believe the same man has robbed banks in Baltimore, Catonsville, Columbia, Silver Spring and Fairfax, Va. Witnesses describe the suspect as a black man about 40 years old, about 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall, weighing about 240 pounds, with a salt-and-pepper beard and mustache. http://www.fbi.gov/baltimore/press-releases/2014/fbi-seeks-assistance-locating-the-lion-man-bank-robber
