A 21-year-old West Baltimore man was arrested in Pennsylvania in late December, nearly two months after police say he was involved in a shooting related to a road-rage incident, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Anthony Ward, of the 1000 block of Braddish Ave. in West Baltimore’s Mosher neighborhood, was arrested in Spring Grove, Pa., Dec. 26, police said.
Ward’s arrest followed an Oct. 30 shooting in Southwest Baltimore, according to police. At about 5:38 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at the 3600 block of Old Frederick Road in the Saint Josephs neighborhood, where they found a 20-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition, police said.
A preliminary investigation found the shooting stemmed from an accident in the 400 block of Yale Ave. in Irvington, less than a mile away from the location where the shooting was reported. There, another male, whose identity is unknown, was riding a dirt bike when he hit and damaged the victim’s vehicle, according to police.
Police believe there was a connection between the dirt bike rider and Ward, who police allege later shot the victim, police spokeswoman Det. Chakia Fennoy said. Ward was not involved in the initial accident, she said.
Police are still searching for others involved in the crash and shooting, she said.
