Ocean City Police arrested two suspects for allegedly trying to pay with prop $100 bills Saturday.
The fake money says "for motion picture use only" on the top banner. Police said the suspects tried to pass two of these bills at a business in Ocean City.
Police found six similar bills in an unrelated drug distribution case. The suspect in that case was not charged with having the bills, police said, because it is not illegal to have fake currency provided the suspect does not try to spend it.
The fake money had serial numbers "PR 10008679 P" and "CP 01105192 L."
Police are investigating these cases and urged business owners to use caution when accepting money. There have been at least three other cases near Maryland's Eastern Shore involving prop currency, police said.
