Man walks into hospital after being shot in the back

A 31-year-old man walked into an area hospital early Sunday with a gunshot wound to his back, according to Baltimore City police.

Police said that at 5:12 a.m., officers were called to an area hospital to investigate a walk-in shooting victim. When officers arrived they found a 31-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound to his back, police said.

The man told police he was in the 600 block of W. Lexington Street when he was shot. Detectives are continuing to investigate.

Police said the man is expected to survive.
