Man convicted of manslaughter in stabbing at hotel

BALTIMORE (AP) — Prosecutors say a man accused of fatally stabbing a man during a fight about money has been convicted of manslaughter and possession of a deadly weapon.

Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby's office said Friday that a jury convicted Tavon Harris of those charges but found him not guilty of murder.

Prosecutors say a woman gave Harris $78 to rent a room for her and her boyfriend, Clerow Myers, at a hotel last July. They say the two men began arguing after Harris didn't give the woman her change and Harris stabbed Myers in the torso.

Mosby's office says Harris faces up to 13 years in prison.
