A U.S. District Judge on Friday sentenced a member of Baltimore's "Up da Hill" gang to 24 years in federal prison and five years of supervised release.
Gregory Sykes-Bey, 22, was involved in the sale of crack cocaine, heroin and other narcotics, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a news release. He admitted to shooting two people on June 1, 2008, as well as a rival gang member on May 11, 2012. Witnesses tied him to another gang-related shooting on August 28, 2011.
The gang, also known as UDH, operates in Cherry Hill and has known rivalries over drug trafficking and area control with Coppin Court and Little Spelman, two other Cherry Hill gangs.
Thirty-five Cherry Hill gang members have entered guilty pleas. Sentences of up to 35 years in prison were given to 23 of those defendants.
