Federal authorities are searching for a suspect in five bank robberies in the Baltimore area in the last two months — including two in the span of about a half-hour Wednesday.

In the first known incident, the suspect robbed the BB&T Bank at 15125 Town Center Place in Pikesville about 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He walked in, presented a note to a teller announcing a robbery, and fled with an unknown amount of cash.

The same man is also suspected in the robbery of SunTrust Bank at 7699 Harford Road in Parkville on Nov. 4, the FBI said. Five days later, he robbed the BB&T Bank at 1510 Fleet St. in Baltimore, the FBI said.

On Wednesday, the suspect robbed the M&T Bank at 432 South Broadway just after 4 p.m., then robbed another M&T Bank at 1725 Whetstone Way just after 4:30 p.m., the FBI said.

A reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man, the FBI said. Authorities have dubbed him a "serial bank robber," and they say he should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force at (410) 265-8080.
