Daughter charged in mother's stabbing death at Eastpoint Mall

A 29-year-old woman is charged with killing her mother in the Eastpoint Mall parking lot Saturday, Baltimore County Police said.

Crystal Marie Wagner, of the 400 block of 52nd Street, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder in the death of Malia Delores Wagner, 60. The daughter is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

The two women went to the mall Saturday afternoon, police said. Crystal Marie Wagner stabbed her mother multiple times on the way out as the two neared her mother's car, parked in covered area near JCPenney, police said.

Police said Crystal Marie Wagner then got in her mother's car and drove away. Police said Saturday they reviewed video footage of the attack.

Officers were called at about 1 p.m. about a woman who appeared injured in the parking lot, police said. The woman had multiple stab wounds to her upper body, police said. She was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and pronounced dead.

"This is a very violent crime," police spokesman Shawn Vinson said.

Police had not determined a motive Sunday morning.
