DEA releases photos of suspects looting pharmacies

The Drug Enforcement Administration on Thursday released nearly 40 more photos of suspects caught looting pharmacies during the rioting last month.

Some suspects are smiling, some are clutching merchandise. Some of the photographs appear to be taken from surveillance cameras at the entrance to the stores, while others show people standing among shelves of prescriptions.

Twenty-seven pharmacies and two methadone clinics were looted, officials said, and estimate that 175,000 units, or doses, were stolen. An estimate 380 businesses were damaged when rioting erupted April 27, the day of Freddie Gray's funeral. Gray died after sustaining a severe spinal injury while in police custody.

The DEA has previously released two earlier sets of photographs to identify and arrest those who stole pharmaceuticals.

Authorities said they have received credible information in response to some of the earlier released photographs but have not yet made any arrests.

Anyone with information about the people in the photos is asked to call police or Metro Crime Stoppers, at 1-866-7-LOCKUP.
