HARTLY, Del. — A Maryland man was shot to death after attacking several other people with a knife at a home in central Delaware, authorities said Wednesday.
Delaware State Police said troopers were dispatched to a home in Hartly around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in response to a 911 call reporting that a person was shot and several people stabbed.
Investigators said several people were in the home watching TV and playing games throughout the night before a 37-year-old man from Ridgely, Maryland, man became enraged and attacked the other occupants with a knife. Police said one of the stabbing victims grabbed a shotgun and shot the attacker in the leg, fatally wounding him.
Two Hartly men, ages 30 and 56, were admitted to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries suffered in the knife attack.
Two Maryland men, ages 34 and 53, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries from the knife attack.
