Two Sunday shootings leave two dead, one injured, Baltimore Police say

A crime scene Sunday night at a gas station in the 1500 block of Havenwood Road in Northeast Baltimore.

Three men were shot Sunday night, including a 56-year-old who died in a double shooting in Northeast Baltimore and a 26-year-old killed in a separate shooting in South Baltimore.

According to a news release, police responded to a reported shooting at about 6:43 p.m. and found a 22-year-old man and 56-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. The 56-year-old was shot in the head and pronounced dead at a hospital, police say. Police identified him Tuesday as Albert Stevenson Jr.

The 22-year-old was shot in the body and hospitalized.

Officers hung yellow tape around the BP gas station in the 1500 block of Havenwood Road in the Hillen neighborhood, blocking off the street into the Northwood Commons shopping center. It was unclear where exactly the shooting took place. A glass window near the gas station’s entrance appeared to be shattered from gunfire.

Several police cars were parked around the gas station, lighting up the night sky with flashing red and blue light as shoppers filtered out of a nearby grocery store. Police officials and detectives walked in and around the gas station, talking to potential witnesses and surveying the scene.

In South Baltimore, officers arrived around 11:10 p.m. at the 3900 block of South Hanover Street in the Brooklyn neighborhood, where Tremaine Thomas Jr., 26, was shot in the head. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Police said homicide detectives have not identified a suspect or motive.
