Twenty laptop computers were stolen this week from an Essex elementary school, Baltimore County police say.
Officers were dispatched to Deep Creek Elementary for a burglar alarm at 2:42 a.m. Tuesday, police said. They found that a window on one of the trailers was open, with the screen on the ground. They later discovered 20 laptops had been taken.
The computers were worth $1,250 each, police said.
Baltimore County schools have placed increasing emphasis on technology, with plans to eventually equip every student with a laptop.
The police department released surveillance footage Friday of two suspects. They asked anyone with information to call police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
