Maintenance worker gets 30 years in murder of Reisterstown leasing manager

(Baltimore County Police Department)

A former maintenance worker at a Reisterstown townhouse complex was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in prison in the 2013 murder of the property's leasing manager.

Rashaan Williams, 29, had been convicted in April of second-degree murder in the death of Melinda Maltese Schaefer, according to the Baltimore County state's attorney's office.

Schaefer, 29, was found stabbed to death at the leasing office of the Townes at Harvest View townhouses in Reisterstown in June 2013. Prosecutors believed that Williams was worried about keeping his job because he had been reprimanded.
