Two Baltimore men have been charged in the fatal Jan. 24 shooting of a woman in Parkville, Baltimore County police said Friday.
David Andre Johnson, 21, and Anthony Eugene Brown Jr., 19, were charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Ashanti Lynnae Ballard-Velez, 21.
Ballard-Velez was found lying in the street at about 10 p.m. in the 1200 block of Deanwood Road, and was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was about a half-mile from her home on Melby Court.
Ballard-Velez and the suspects "were having an altercation when the shooting occurred," said Cpl. John Wachter, a police spokesman. "It doesn't appear random."
Johnson is being held without bail in the Baltimore County Detention Center, police said.
Brown is being held in a Baltimore jail on unrelated charges, they said. He has not yet been served with a county arrest warrant.
