Stepson charged in stabbing death of Parkville woman

Stepson charged with stabbing his stepmother to death in Parkville apartment.

Baltimore County Police charged a man in the stabbing death of his stepmother in Parkville on Wednesday.

Philip Min Hyang Cho, 27, was charged with first-degree murder Thursday in connection with the death of Haw Sun Kim, 61.

Police went to the family's apartment on Luddy Court in Parkville just after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday after receiving a report of a possible assault. Kim had suffered stab wounds and was declared dead at the scene, police said.

Police learned that Cho stabbed Kim after they got into an argument, and then left the apartment before police got there. Police did not say what Kim and his stepmother argued about.

Cho is charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson.
