Man charged in fatal Owings Mills shooting

Man charged in double shooting in Owings Mills that killed 1 man.

A 31-year-old man has been charged in connection with an Owings Mills double shooting that left one man dead and another injured last week.

Carlos Levell Nicholson, of Owings Mills, is charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, Baltimore County police said Monday.

Police say they responded to Lower Gate Court shortly before 11 p.m. Jan. 7 for a report of shots being fired. They found 19-year-old Treshawn William Johnson, of the Lochearn area, dead on the sidewalk. A second man nearby was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The man who survived was taken to a local hospital. His name was not released.

Police said the two men who were shot "had some sort of interaction with Nicholson" but did not elaborate.

Nicholson is being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
