Essex man crossing road with mother killed in hit-and-run, police say

Police said they believe a driver in a hit-and-run was driving a purple  Hyundai Elantra or a similar vehicle with front damage.

Baltimore County police said they are seeking the driver who struck and killed a man crossing a road with his mother early Monday morning in Essex.

The 23-year-old victim was crossing Eastern Boulevard at Stemmers Run Road with his mother around 12:48 a.m. when a purple sedan traveling east struck him without stopping, police said. The victim's mother was not injured.

Police identified the victim as Kyle Emmanuel Marshall of the 1500 block of Doolittle Road in Essex. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they are looking for a purple Hyundai Elantra or a similar vehicle with damage to the front driver side area and windshield.
