A 19-year-old man has been charged in connection with an Aug. 1 assault on a woman who was walking her dog near Double Rock Park in Parkville.
Malik Christopher Roberts, of Parkville, is charged with robbery and first- and second-degree assault. Baltimore County police announced the charges Thursday.
Police say the 26-year-old woman was walking near the park about 7:30 p.m. when Roberts approached and began to pet her dog.
He allegedly grabbed the dog and asked the woman for money. When she offered her cell phone in exchange for the dog, he said he wanted money. He allegedly hit her on the head with an object and fled without taking anything.
Roberts was being held without bail at the county detention center.
