Baltimore County Police said they are investigating a possible shooting in Windsor Mill involving an 11-year-old girl.
A police spokesman said officers responding to a call in the unit block of Flaxton Court at about 7 p.m. discovered that a child had been struck in the head by an unknown object while on her way home.
The girl had told her mother of her injury, which police said might have been a bullet wound, and was taken to a local hospital. The child was conscious and alert when speaking, police said.
Police initially said it was a 11-year-old boy who was injured.
No further information was immediately made available.
