2 men shot in head — one fatally — in separate city incidents Saturday

Two men were shot in the head, one of them fatally, in separate incidents in Baltimore on Saturday night

Police said they were called to the 4600 block of York Road just south of East Cold Spring Lane, between the Guilford and Wilson Park neighborhoods, at 7:05 p.m. for a reported shooting.

They found a man who had been shot in the head. He died at a local hospital.

The victim had a gun in his waistband, which police said was collected as evidence in the case.

No further information about the victim or a possible suspect was immediately available. Anyone with information can call homicide detectives at 410-396-2100.

About two hours later, police responded to a report of shots fired near Mondawmin Mall in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Ave. in West Baltimore.

Police didn’t find any victims, but checked local hospitals and found a 27-year-old man with a graze wound to the head. The man has not been cooperative, and police said they do not yet know why the man was shot or who shot him.
