Armed man arrested in East Baltimore

Police arrested a 42-year-old Baltimore man armed with a gun in East Baltimore Wednesday, then obtained a search warrant for his home and seized more guns, ammunition and drugs, officials said.

Claude Burks, of the 1800 block of E. North Ave. in South Clifton Park, where he was arrested, faces gun and drug dealing charges, according to court records.

The search of Burks' home yielded several handguns, one rifle, various amounts of ammunition and heroin, police said. He was prohibited from having a gun due to a prior felony conviction.

No lawyer was listed for Burks in online court records.

He is being held without bail, with a hearing scheduled for July 14.
