Baltimore police have an arrest warrant for an 18-year-old wanted in the robbery of a Frederick Douglass High School student who was on his way to pick up his cap and gown earlier this month.
Police on Tuesday identified Kyree Greene as one of two "Wanted Wednesday" suspects.
In Tuesday's email, police said Green, of the 2600 block of Francis Street, is wanted for a non-fatal shooting on May 23 in the 4100 block of Eldorado Avenue in Howard Park.
In an email from Police Commissioner Kevin Davis to "elected officials and staff," Davis said Green is wanted in the robbery of a 17-year-old student at Douglass on June 3. A police spokeswoman on Tuesday declined to comment on whether Green was a suspect.
Police said previously that the 17-year-old victim was approached from behind by the suspect who placed a gun at his back about 12:30 p.m. June 3. They struggled over the weapon, causing the gunman to shoot himself and the student to gain control of the weapon.
Douglass school police saw the suspect chasing the student outside the school and stopped the student, but the suspect fled. Police said the victim had the suspect's gun and blood on him.
In the same email to officials, Davis also highlighted recent arrests of juvenile suspects charged a spree of carjackings and street robberies, and noted that the department has seen a 78 percent increase in handgun arrests this year compared to last year.
"The officers are working hard," Davis wrote.
Police on Wednesday said they are also searching for Shelton Price, of the 600 of Dumbarton Avenue. He is wanted for an aggravated assault on June 1st in the 1200 block of Shellbanks Road in Cherry Hill.
