Baltimore police identify Oct. 4 homicide victim

City police on Wednesday identified a 34-year-old man who was fatally shot outside his Northwest Baltimore home earlier this month.

Police said Santos Nelson Castillo-Portillo was shot, along with two other men, near his home on Fieldcrest Road in the city's Fallstaff neighborhood on Oct. 4.

Police said Castillo-Portillo and the other victims — a 31-year-old man and an 18-year-old man — were taken to a local hospital. The other men were expected to survive.

Police also reported a shooting at 11:17 a.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of N. Monroe Street, where officers found a man with a gunshot wound to the right thigh. He was taken to an area hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
