Man, 25, charged in stabbing death of roommate in East Baltimore

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the stabbing death of his 47-year-old roommate in East Baltimore on Friday, police said.

The suspect, Deonta Winston, is accused of stabbing the victim, Juan Henderson, about 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 2300 block of Robb St. in East Baltimore Midway, which is near their home in the 2300 block of Aiken St., after a fight over money, police said.

Winston is charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure, according to online court records. He is being held without bail at Central Booking, police said.

Winston’s grandmother declined to comment when she answered the phone at the home Tuesday.

A public defender representing him could not immediately be reached for comment.
