One dead, four injured in Tuesday shootings in Baltimore, police say

One man was killed and four were injured in shootings in Baltimore on Tuesday, police said.

Three of the shootings occurred in Northwest Baltimore. At about 4 p.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in the upper body in the 3900 block of Norfolk Avenue in Northwest Baltimore, according to police. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

At about 8:26 p.m., police were sent to the 2700 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway to investigate a reported shooting. When officers arrived, they learned nearby fire department officials had aided to a 23-year-old man who had been shot, police. They rushed the man to a hospital for treatment, according to police.

Later, at about 11:29 p.m., police investigated a shooting in the 3900 block of Liberty Heights Ave., where a 19-year-old man was shot multiple times, police said. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Two other shootings occurred in East and Northeast Baltimore. A 24-year-old man was shot in the foot around 3:31 p.m. in the 5700 block of Onnen Road in East Baltimore near the Baltimore County line. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, according to police.

And at about 10:39 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 4300 block of Orchard Ridge Blvd. They found a 29-year-old man with gunshot wounds, and he was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

So far this year, 179 people have been killed in Baltimore.
