Police Wednesday also identified a victim of a July 25 homicide in the 5400 block of price Avenue as Kevin Joyner, 46, of the 4000 block of Rogers Avenue.

The city's homicide count sits Wednesday at 199 in 2017. That's more than in all of 2011, when the city saw its modern low of 197 homicides.

The pace of killing this year is more in line with the historic highs seen in 2015 and 2016, when there were 344 and 318 homicides, respectively.
