Tuesday's shootings began at 12:54 p.m., when a 30-year-old man was found suffering from gunshots to his legs in the 3500 block of Woodland Ave. in Northwest Baltimore, police said. Just after 1 p.m., a 24-year-old man was admitted into a hospital for a gunshot wound to his lower back. Then at 1:26 p.m., police found a 21-year-old man who had been shot in the body in the 1200 block of Woodyear St., in West Baltimore.

At the scene of the Woodyear Street shooting, more than a dozen shell casings of different calibers were observed in the street.

Police later said the gunshot wound suffered by the 24-year-old man who admitted himself to the hospital was self-inflicted.

The city's latest homicide victim, meanwhile, was actually shot in 2011. Police said Berney Perkins was driving in the 3200 block of Vickers Road in Northwest Baltimore on April 17, 2011, at about 10:15 p.m. when he was shot in the head.

Perkins, who was 57 at the time, recovered but was unable to identify the shooter, police said. On Sept. 17, 2016, Perkins died, with an autopsy determining it to be a result of complications from his injuries.

Attempts to locate relatives of Perkins were unsuccessful Tuesday.
