Man dies 5 days after West Baltimore shooting

A 28-year-old man shot last week in West Baltimore has died, police said.

Minesh Tyler, of the 4200 block of Old Frederick Road, was shot around 6 p.m. on Aug. 23 while sitting in a car in the 200 block of S. Augusta Avenue in the Irvington neighborhood.

Tyler was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

On Sunday morning — five days after the shooting — Tyler died, police said.

Homicide detectives are investigating. Anyone with information may call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.

Also, police are investigating a shooting that took place early Saturday in southwest Baltimore.

Police said the man told detectives he was riding a bike in the 1900 block of West Pratt Street in the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood when he heard gunfire and realized he had been grazed in the face by a bullet. The man went home for several hours, and eventually went to a Baltimore hospital for treatment. Police were alerted by hospital personnel around 2 p.m.
