Three people were shot, one fatally, since Thursday night in West Baltimore, police said.
A 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both suffering from gunshot wounds to the legs, drove themselves to an area hospital after being shot in the 1600 block of Moreland Avenue, police said.
Police said that sometime before 5:35 a.m. Friday, the two victims had an altercation with an unidentified suspect in the Coppin Heights/Ash-Co-East neighborhood. The suspect shot both victims before fleeing the area.
The suspect has not been apprehended, police said.
No other details were available.
Shelley McDowell, who lives on the block where the shooting occured, said she came back from the laundromat early Friday morning to find a bullet hole in the back of her van.
McDowell, 33, said such crimes were unusual in the area.
"This is a very quiet, quiet, close-knit neighborhood," she said.
There have been 23 homicides reported in the Western District so far this year; the Eastern District has seen 25.

At 11:30 p.m. Thursday night, a 24-year-old man was shot and killed in the 100 block of North Smallwood Street in Baltimore's Penrose neighborhood.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The police said they have not identified a suspect.
