14-year-old boy among two shot overnight in Baltimore

A 14-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man are both in serious condition after being shot in separate incidents overnight, police said Saturday.

The boy was shot multiple times late Friday at a home in Northeast Baltimore's Coldstream Homestead Montebello neighborhood, according to police.

A woman at the house in the 2600 block of Cecil Avenue told police she found her grandson shot after she heard five or six gunshots around 11:50 p.m., according to a preliminary investigation. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Police are investigation a second shooting in Southeast Baltimore that left one man shot in the abdomen. The shooting occurred around 3:15 a.m. in the 3400 block of E. Fairmount Avenue in the Highlands neighborhood.

The victim told police he was walking in the middle of the street on S. Highland Avenue when a person he did not know came up behind him and stated, "Kick it out," before shooting him. The victim ran to E. Fairmount Avenue, where police and medics responded. He is being treated at an area hospital.
