Two shot in same Northeast Baltimore block 16 hours apart

Two men were shot about 16 hours apart in the same Northeast Baltimore block, amid four shootings in the city Wednesday, police said.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the head at about 4:21 p.m. in the 2700 block of Hugo Ave. near Clifton Park in Coldstream Homestead Montebello, where a 24-year-old man was grazed in the neck with a bullet at about 12:41 a.m., police said.

Police did not say whether the shootings — near the corner where a 16-year-old was killed in January 2014 — were related. Northeast District detectives are investigating, and anyone with information may call 410-396-2444.

At about 2:38 p.m. Wednesday, a man was shot in the back in the 3700 block of St. Margaret St. in Brooklyn, police said.

Anyone with information may call 410-396-2499. Southern District Detectives were investigating, but no further information was available.

On the city's north side, a 19-year-old man was shot at about 2 a.m. in the 1100 block of E. Northern Pkwy. of the Glen Oaks neighborhood, police said. The man walked into an area hospital at 4:17 a.m., with a wound to his leg, police said. Northern District Detectives are investigating and anyone with information may call 410-396-2455.

Through Wednesday night, police have reported 248 shootings and 136 homicides in 2015. At the same time last year, Baltimore had 91 homicides among 137 shootings, police said.
