Homicide detectives investigating city shooting death

Baltimore police are investigating a homicide in Northwest Baltimore that killed a 24-year-old man.

Police responded to the 3600 block of Bowers Ave. in Grove Park at 7:21 a.m. Monday and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have no suspects, and homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.

Gun violence is rare in the Grove Park neighborhood — the homicide is the first there in five years worth of crime data posted to the city's Open Baltimore web site.

But Monday's fatal shooting comes on the heels of a homicide on Oct. 10 just a few blocks away, in the Howard Park neighborhood, when 58-year-old Reginald Hart was fatally shot.

In January, a man was reported to have been shot in the hand in the 5600 block of Belle Ave. in Grove Park.
