Man shot in Northeast Baltimore Sunday, second nonfatal shooting over weekend

A man was shot in the stomach Sunday afternoon in Northeast Baltimore, marking the second nonfatal shooting in the city this weekend, police said.

Police said they responded around 2:50 p.m. to the 3200 block of Belair Road, near the boundary of the Belair-Edison neighborhood, after learning of a shooting in the area.

At the scene, police said officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. Medics drove the man to a hospital for treatment while detectives took over the investigation.

The shooting Sunday followed one nearby the night before, according to police.

Police said a man was shot in the face and neck Saturday night in Northeast Baltimore, about a mile from the shooting Sunday afternoon.

Patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at around 8:51 p.m. in the 4200 block of Nicholas Ave., a location that also borders Belair-Edison, police said.

Officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the face and neck. Police said medics transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
