Baltimore police on Friday said they have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a shooting of an 18-year-old on a basketball court earlier this month.
Police said that on June 12, Dennis Thomas, 19, began arguing with the victim over a woman he referred to as a his girlfriend in the 2200 block of Hunter St., in the city's Old Goucher neighborhood. Thomas pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the buttocks, police said.
Officers interviewed witnesses, two of which identified Thomas in a photo array. He was arrested on June 15. He is charged with attempted first degree murder, assault and weapons charges with additional charges pending.
Thomas is being held at the Baltimore City Detention Center. Thomas did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
